The Invisalign Treatment Process
If you’re interested in Invisalign, the first step is to schedule an appointment at our Chicago dental office. Our dentists will perform a comprehensive evaluation complete with photos, digital x-rays, digital impressions, and intraoral images. Our dentists use this information to virtually plan your Invisalign treatment and map out how your teeth will move.
An Invisalign lab uses our plan to create several sets of clear aligners that take you through treatment. When your aligners are ready, you’ll visit Wicker Park Dental Group to pick up your first sets of aligners, and we’ll explain how to wear them.
How to Wear Invisalign Clear Aligners
Wear your first set of aligners for 2-3 weeks (we’ll tell you exactly how long), then switch to the second set. You’ll notice that the aligners are very snug at first, and that’s a good thing because it means your teeth are already starting to move!
After you’ve worn the second set, we’ll see you again, so our dentists can check on your progress and give you the next sets of aligners. You continue wearing and switching aligners until you’ve worn all the sets our dentists prescribed and treatment is finished.
Treatment times with Invisalign average 12-18 months, and you’ll stay motivated because you’ll notice your teeth getting straighter every time you switch aligners.
